NC-115

Specification
AWS Specification: AWS A5.15 ENiCl
JIS Specification: DFC Ni
Other Specification: N/A
Description
  • NC-115 is a unique electrode designed for cold welding of cast iron without pre-heat and for joining cast iron to mild steel
  • Features fine regular flow and stable arce
  • Very little mixing up with base material resulting in the transition zone being easily machinable
  • No undercut
  • The coating is non-conductive and will not spark even if it touches the sides of the rod
  • Can be used for hard to reach welding points

NOTE:

The information contained or otherwise referenced herein is presented only as “typical” without guarantee or warranty, and Industrial Welding Corporation expressly disclaims any liability incurred from any reliance thereon. Typical data and test results for mechanical properties, deposit, or electrode composition and other properties were obtained from a weld produced and tested according to prescribed standards and should not be assumed to be the expected results in a particular application or weldment. Actual results will vary depending on many factors, including, but not limited to, weld procedure, plate chemistry and temperature, weldment design, and fabrication methods. Users are cautioned to confirm by qualification testing, or other appropriate means, the suitability of any welding consumable and procedure before use in the intended application.

  • Surfacing cast iron parts subjected to erosion, corrosion, and high temperatures
  • Best suited for repairing intricate cast iron parts, water pump housing, electric motor bodies and covers, machine frames, cylinder block, gears
  • For salvaging foundry castings, gear box and differential housing, lathe beds, sugar mill rollers, glass moulds, and cast iron dies
  • Clean base metal before welding
  • Keep bead length less than 50mm to disperse welding heat. Adopt back step, stepping stone, or symmetry methods by turns
  • Hot peen in every pass
  • It is not necessary to preheat and postheat in general but satisfactory results can be obtained by preheating at 100-200ºC in accordance with the kind, shape, and size of base metal
