Description

Application

Remarks

  • Welding heat input must be controlled in order to get required impact value since notch toughness tends to decrease by excessive heat input
  • Preheating at 50-100°C is needed depending upon the kind of steel and its thickness
  • Dry the electrodes at 350-400°C for about one hour before use
  • Take the backstep method or strike the arc previously on a small steel piece to prevent blowholes at the arc striking in a groove

Typical data and test results for mechanical properties, deposit, or electrode composition and other properties were obtained from a weld produced and tested according to prescribed standards and should not be assumed to be the expected results in a particular application or weldment. Actual results will vary depending on many factors, including, but not limited to, weld procedure, plate chemistry and temperature, weldment design, and fabrication methods. Users are cautioned to confirm by qualification testing, or other appropriate means, the suitability of any welding consumable and procedure before use in the intended application.
