Remarks

  • May be used with either AC or DC (straight or reverse polarity)
  • When DC is used, reverse polarity is recommended for groove welding; straight polarity for horizontal fillet welding
  • In single pass fillet welding weaving is usually dispensed with
  • In flat butt welding, weaving is needed to assure wash-up on the side wall of the joint, but the arc is never played up the side wall
