I. APPLICATIONS:

Use for welding various kinds of copper alloys such as phosphor bronze, brass and gun metal etc., and for joining two metals of different kinds such as copper alloys to steel bronze and brass etc. Also this is suitable for surfacing or repairing of gears bearings, electrode holders and for filling defects of cast iron, cast copper alloys.

II. DESCRIPTION:

N-CuSnC (AC/DC) is an electrode for copper alloys which may form deposited metal of phosphor bronze. This deposited metal has weldability, mechanical properties and also has an excellent corrosion and abrasion resistant. Therefore, this is suitable for welding of similar or dissimilar metal such as various kinds or copper alloy and steel.

III. NOTES ON USAGE:

  • Clean parent metal of rust, paint, seals, oil, grease and moisture to insure sound porosity free welds.

  • Because copper has high heat conductivity, preheating and interpass temperature are required for heavy sections (5mm & more)

           For phosphor bronze and gun metal…………………………………….. 150 – 200ºC

           For brass …………………………………………………………………… 250 – 300ºC

           No preheat is required to this section (less than 5.0mm) or on ferrous based materials.

  • Don’t use too much weaving. The bead width should be kept within 3 times or rod diameter.

  • Apply hot peening on every bead because the structure of deposited metals rough at as welded condition. Hot peening is effective to improvement of mechanical properties.
