I. APPLICATIONS:

For re-building and hardfacing of steel mill rolls made of all kinds of carbon steel, alloy steel and cast iron such as rolls for the following: Structural Steel, Rails, Square Bars, Round Bars, Wire Rods

II. DESCRIPTION:

THERMAROLL-M is a machinable hardfacing welding electrodes specially formulated for steel mill rolls to combat combination of hot wear, impact, metal to metal abrasion and thermal fatigue.

III. NOTES ON USAGE:

  • It is a must to PRE-HEAT and control INTERPASS TEMPERATURES for a successful welding. If possible, use temp. stick indicator.  In general, pre-heat to 370-430ºC. Control interpass temp. from 300-350ºC.

  • After welding, allow SLOW COOLING of not more than 40ºC per hour.

  • If the rolls are made of DUCTILE or GRAY CAST IRON, use BUFFERWELD NO. 3 electrodes for buffering before overlaying with THERMAROLL-M.

III. HARDNESS OF WELD METAL DEPOSIT :

As welded          :  20-25 HRC

Work Hardened:  40-45 HRC
