I. APPLICATIONS:

NSS-309L welding electrodes are often used for welding stainless steel to carbon and low alloy steel. Also after used for overlaying unalloyed structural steel.

II. DESCRIPTION:

NSS-309L-17 is a lime-titania type electrode, which gives extra low carbon25% Cr-12% Ni austenitic weld metal virtually free from spatter. Because of extra low carbon content, the deposited metal has more excellent resistance to the intercrystalline corrosion than that of ordinary 309 type. Peeling-off of the slag is very good.

III. NOTES ON USAGE:

  • Keep the arc length as short as possible.

  • Choose the welding current within the range stated in the table below.

  • Do not use excessive current.
