AWS Specification: E308L-16
JIS Specification:

D308L-16

Other Specification:

I. APPLICATIONS:

Welding of AISI304 stainless steel. Welding of AISI301, AISI302 stainless steel.

II. DESCRIPTION:

NSS-308L is a lime-titania type electrode, which shows 19%Cr-9%Ni austenitic weld metal virtually free from spatter. It is superb in usability. It is excellent in heat and corrosion resistance. It is widely used for various chemical and food processing industry and buildings in austenitic stainless steel job. Peeling-off of the slag is very good.

 III. INSTRUCTION FOR WELDING:

  • Keep the arc length as short as possible.

  • Choose the welding current within the range stated in the table below.

  • Do not use excessive current.

Typical data and Test results for mechanical properties, deposit or electrode composition and other properties were obtained from a weld produced and tested according to prescribed standards, and should not be assumed to be the expected results in a particular application or weldment. Actual results will vary depending on many factors, including, but not limited to, weld procedure, plate chemistry and temperature, weldment design and fabrication methods. Users are cautioned to confirm by qualification testing, or other appropriate means, the suitability of any welding consumable and procedure before use in the intended application.
